The Season of Lent....2018. Throughout this season, Pastor Cain will post weekly scriptures, reflection and prayer.  Please meditate on the Word as we prepare to celebrate the Resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

WEEK One: “The True Fast”
 Scripture Text: Isaiah 58:1 – 12

“Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet. Declare to my people their rebellion and to the descendants of Jacob their sins. 2 For day after day they seek me out; they seem eager to know my ways, as if they were a nation that does what is right and has not forsaken the commands of its God. They ask me for just decisions and seem eager for God to come near them. 3 ‘Why have we fasted,’ they say, ‘and you have not seen it? Why have we humbled ourselves, and you have not noticed?’ “Yet on the day of your fasting, you do as you please and exploit all your workers. 4 Your fasting ends in quarreling and strife, and in striking each other with wicked fists. You cannot fast as you do today and expect your voice to be heard on high.

Intercessory Prayer Request

Prayer is an important part of our communication to God.  God wants us to pray for one another.   Intercessory prayer reflects God’s character of love and mercy toward us. When praying for one another, we must look beyond our personal needs and grow in compassion for others.  If you desire prayer from the Intercessory Prayer Team please submit your request by clicking the link above.  Your request will go to Pastor Cain and the Intercessory Prayer Team.

... “the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16

The Mission of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church

The Christian Methodist Episcopal Church is called to serve the present age as a sign and instrument of God’s saving grace, making disciples for Christ, nurturing them through preaching and teaching the Word of God, through Christ centered worship, prophetic witness and effective service.”

Hebrews 10:25
Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Our doors are open to anyone seeking a place to worship. We encourage Christians to find a church because the Bible instructs us to be in fellowship with other believers. If we are part of Christ's body, we will recognize our need to fit into the body of believers. Starrville is a place where members come together to encourage one another as members of Christ's body.
